Richard W. Young grew up on Long Island and attended Long Island University, C.W. Post College, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with honors. After college Richard was appointed an Officer in the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department and received the Jack P. Finnerty Award for Academic Excellence. Mr. Young left the Sheriff's Department to join the New York City Police Department, a life long goal.

Upon graduating the Police Academy in the top 1% of his class, Officer Young was assigned directly to a precinct. Officer Young quickly became a highly decorated New York City Police Officer serving in prestigious commands including the Tactical Patrol Force, the Street Crime Unit and as an investigator with the Organized Control Bureau Narcotics Division. Mr. Young made many notable and highly publicized arrests. In 1985 he was promoted to the rank of Police Sergeant. In 1986 he was assigned as the Supervisor of the Midtown South Precinct Anti-Crime Unit (the largest anti-crime unit in the city). In 1988 Sergeant Young was seriously injured in the line of duty and forced to retire early due to the severity of the injuries he sustained.

Mr. Young attended St. John's School and in 1993 Mr. Young was admitted to the practice of law before the Courts of New York State. Mr. Young founded the firm and since then has successfully handled thousands of matters for all types of clients.

Patrick Young was born on Long Island and lived in many communities on the south shore. After the death of his father at a very young age, Patrick moved to upstate New York and remained there until, at the age of 18, he entered the United States Marine Corps. Patrick served as a United States Marine with distinction during the Persian Gulf War.

Thereafter, Patrick returned home and attended college under the G.I. Bill. After graduating from Long Island University, C.W. Post College with honors, Patrick was accepted to St. John's School of Law. In 2000 Patrick Young was sworn in as an attorney and joined the practice with his brother Richard. At that time the name of the Law Firm was changed to Young & Young, LLP.
